We moved into our home almost a year ago. It is a true work in progress. We have done many updates throughout the house; painted about every wall, replaced light fixtures and ceiling fans, replaced bathroom and kitchen faucets as well as knobs on the bathroom cabinets. We bought our very first dining room set this past fall that I just adore. The next big project in our home is furnishing the formal living room. I have been looking at furniture for a formal living room for over 3 years now. You see, in our last home we also had an empty formal living room! Never filled with anything but our Christmas tree once a year. I don't know how much longer I will be able to handle an empty room. To make matters worse, it is the front room of the house, the first thing you see when you walk in! Oh, the HORROR!!! My sweet husband has offered to buy me a chair for the room for my upcoming birthday, but I am still undecided about a sofa. When I design a space for someone else, I usually start with the biggest piece and work my way around from there. These are the sofas I have had my eye on for a few years now. I would love to know what sofas you like and what ideas you might have for me!! Maybe someone should just design this space for me so it will actually get done!! I like 1 or 4. I'm sure it will look wonderful.
They are all great but I like #1 best. It looks comfy and like it would be easy to design around it. Good luck! :-)
My favorite is #1, but only because it is totally my design aesthetic. I love the leg detail and, in fact, just received a couple of chairs with the same legs and rolled arms, but with some cool nailhead trim. My second favorite is #4. It looks like that sofa has some incredible button detail on the seat cushions, which is unique. All of them are nice sofas, though! So, what are you thinking for fabric? Are you going with a print or a solid? Let us know what you choose.
Something in orange... ; )
I'm not usually one to go for legs like on couch 1, but I do like how they mimic the legs of your dining room table(which is gorgeous). I think my fave is 2. Some curves to mimic the curves in the dining room table legs and glass design of the china cabinet, but still simple enough to work some fun pieces around. Of course, I majored in psych and English, so I really learned the art of rationalization, not design (and therefore, have no idea what I'm talking about). :) Good luck! Can't wait to see what you do.
Immediately loving the first one. Maybe it's because I want one just like it and have looked at one like it for a few years as well. It's classic and simple and comfy looking :)
